I grew up in Orrville, Ohio and remain close with my high school classmates. They are probably the reason I write YA novels...it's a way to stay connected to them.... and to the dreams our teen brains created. After college, I worked as an occupational therapist for 42 years, and along the way, I got an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults Program from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Being creative is rejuvenating for me. I enjoy making greeting cards, wreaths, and beaded bracelets. I also love to read, hike, and to laugh with friends. One of my favorite things to do is to go out to breakfast. Even more than that, I especially love watching baseball. It's pretty special to go to a game with my husband and son. And I should mention my cat, Clementine. She often keeps me company when I write.
